How to Keep Blonde Hair Bright + Healthy

I have been highlighting my hair for years. My top priority is to always keep it as healthy as possible. And secondly, as blonde as possible. My natural color is pretty light, and I “lift” really fast. I had one bad incident with hair color in high school, and ever since then I have had to baby my hair.

I am definitely a “product junkie” but I love trying new products and seeing the end result. I want to share what has repaired my hair and kept it healthy enough to continue highlighting it.

KEEPING IT HEALTHY :

First things first, I am sure you have heard of Olaplex. There is a three step process, with steps one and two only available by hair professionals at the salon. Step three is a treatment you can do at home. The science behind it is crazy! It goes in and rebuilds the broken bonds. I personally try to use the Olaplex number 3 once or twice a week. It is recommended to leave in for 10-15 minutes, but I actually sleep in it and wash it out in the morning. Then, I follow it with the Olaplex shampoo and conditioner. Yes, it is pricy, but your hair will be visibly healthier. I recently went super blonde, and Olaplex (and a great hairstylist) have kept my hair in great condition! I could go on and on about how much I love it, but I think you get the picture!

KEEPING IT BRIGHT BLONDE :

PURPLE SHAMPOO!! I had never used purple shampoo until a few months ago. My hairstylist actually told me to use it every time I wash my hair. I have now tried every purple shampoo thats out there, and I am obsessed with this one. This stuff is PURPLE. I mean can stain your hands, purple. Some purple shampoos are known to try your hair out, but this one actually has done the opposite. And on top of that, it smells like heaven. Do not let this sit in your hair for too long, or it can actually turn it purple. I have never had this happen to me, but I am not taking any chances. You can use this every time you wash your hair, whenever you’re feeling brassy, or you can even mix it in with the Olaplex shampoo. Its a game changer!

OTHER PRODUCTS :

These are the products and steps I follow when I get out of the shower

  1. I mix these power drops with this styler
  2. After drying my hair, I use this powder at my roots for volume if I am curling it. A little goes a LONG way, trust me! This stuff actually makes your hair grow and you rub it in. I love it!
  3. Spray with a little texturizing spray and you are good to go!

Again, everyone has different hair and some of these products may not work for you. These are the products and steps that have worked best for my hair!
